Character sketches

My Character sketches. I used plain simple clothes for both the men and females because the Norse gods were meant to be seen as humans but just stronger and immortal also Asgard is said to only have two seasons summer and winter so their clothes would have to be suitable for both.
Hel does not have very thick clothes because I think in the underworld it wouldn't be warm or cold, Helheim is not a place of torture like how the Christians personify hell but it is dark and rocky so I think her clothes would be revealing to show off her whole self because she is half dead (clothes don't really matter when your dead) so I took some creative liberties. Life and Life's yearning are the last two humans alive and I don't think clothes would survive the fires of the world, they wouldn't have a lot with them but the clothes they wore before the world burned.
Surtr is a fire giant and because of his character design I didn't want to give him clothes, I also think he would be made from lava and rock so he's not very human so no social construct of the use of clothes.
Research
Odin- The most information on Odin is from the 'Prose Edda of Snorri Sturluson' which is an Icelandic writing dating from the 13th Century. Odin is known by many names including 'God of the hanged' and 'helmeted one'.Because much of the stories are literally Icelandic sources, it is hard to determine what and where exactly odin was worshipped. In one story carved into stone of Gotland is the depiction of Sleipnir, the grey 8 legged horse who Odin was known to ride into battle with. Odin is depicted differently however their are a few similarities that are shown in many stories such as Odin having one eye, being older in comparison to the other gods and shown with his two ravens Huginn and Muninn.
Thor- The eleventh century English homilist Aelfric equates Thor as the chief Roman deity Jupiter. In many of Egill skallagrimsson's poems he uses the term 'land God' or 'the god' which was more towards the honouring/ worshiped of Thor not Odin. Thor was most likely seen as a protecter, as he was called 'almighty God'. Thor's name was wide spread around the viking as can be seen by viking's place names of their settlements.
Loki- The trickster god was also known as the God of fire and father of monsters. HIs son Jormungandr was also known as the world serpent. Fenrir is not depicted in any specific fur shade but some stories say he's dark grey or black with amber eyes like flames.
These god are depicted differently in adaptations of the gods however I tried to keep it within historical context and what I think viking wold wear.
