Self Defining Project

My idea is an Illustrated comic book based on a book of my choosing: the book I chose to create a comic book on was "Norse Mythology" By Neil Grayson and the story I particularly wanted to illustrate was "Ragnarok: The final destiny of the gods." The comic is 47 pages altogether, however, I know with my time frame I will not be able to finish this, so a smaller deadline will be 8 inked pages of the beginning of the story, a finished cover and back.
I will re-design the characters with my own ideas but as these are characters that have been imagined in many ways, most well known of these adaptations is the Marvel versions of some of the main Norse pantheon so I will try and add elements from these adaptations as these are the most well-known adaptations and may be a way to introduce people who grew up with the comic to the real history and death of the gods these characters are based on.
The age range for this comic will be 16+ because some of the stories talk about gore and my comic has some nudity and the story of the death of the gods itself has a lot of death. I already have some conceptual ideas for how some characters will look and I hope to embody Neil Grayson's description with my own versions of the characters.
The characters I will be depicted from the story.
Odin - All-father of humans and king of Gods.
Thor - God of thunder and son of Odin and Fyorgyn, the earth goddess.
Loki - God of Lies and father to monsters, the bringer of the end.
Hel - Queen of Helheim Daughter to Loki.
Jormungardr - The world serpent and Son of Loki.
Fenrir - The wolf that swallowed the sun and moon, Son of Loki.
Heimdall - Watcher of the Gods, Son of 9 mothers.
